Visitation for Mr. Jackson will be held Saturday November 26, 2011 from 9:30 to 12 Noon at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church located at 4545 Benton Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri. Tribute Funeral services will immediately begin at 12Noon. Joseph Steven Jackson, Sr. was born August 17, 1958 in Kansas City Mo. Joe was educated in the Kansas City Mo Public Schools system, attending Southeast and Manual High Schools. He also took classes at Penn Valley Community College and graduated from the House of Heavlin School of Cosmetology. Affectionately known by friends and family as Joe, he was employed in several different positions during his life, including: City Hall of Kansas City; Federal Reserve Bank; Commerce Bank; Manpower; and ADIA. Once he finished Cosmetology and Barber school, he ventured out to various shops in the area: Cut Creations; Dee's Barber Shop; 39th Street; Phyllis Barber Shop; and Barber Shop 67; and let's not forget all those cut he did in his house... . He accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in KCMO, with his late Grand Mother Mrs. Stella Obie. In his adult life, he would visit several area churches, including: Metropolitan Missionary Baptist; Greater Faith MBC; Empower Faith Ministries at 4042 Indiana KCMO. He never lost his faith in GOD. While his career brought him in contact with many people of all walks of life, Joe befriended a lot of people that will miss him. His humors spirit will be missed not only in the work place, but in the lives of all the people he came in contact with. He never met a stranger. Being a man, who was always willing to give good sound advice and guidance. You could always count on Him to tell it like is... . He didn't sugar coat the truth. Joe truly loved his children and he had a special love for his brother and his sister. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: two sons, Joseph S. Jackson Jr., and Isaiah Jackson; one, daughter Charmaine Leonard; one sister, Sherri E. Frazier, of Portland; two brothers, Rodney Jackson and Tracy Jackson of Cameron Mo. He also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, an uncle and an aunt, Mr and Mrs Charles & Dorothy Goff of Raytown Mo. Uncle Stanley Obie of KC and a Godfather of his kids and Best Friend RJ (Jim) Moore of KCMO.
