Services for Mr. Larry Williams will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at Slider Funeral Home, located at 1734 Washington Blvd, Kansas City, KS . Visitation will be conducted from 9AM -11AM. The Funeral Tribute will began promptly at 11AM. Larry D. Williams, 61, was born on March 28, 1950 to Louis and Lula Williams in Marianna, Arkansas. He was proceded in death by his wife, Flocy Williams; and both parents Louis and Lula Williams. Larry received Christ at an early age and pronounced he was saved. He was the second oldest of seven children born. Larry received his education in the Kansas City Kansas School District, graduating from Wyandotte High School. He received many honors, awards and held records in track and field, which still stand today. In Larry's earlier days, many of us may recall him as President of the Street Strippers, an automotive club that specialized in building the city's finest Hot Rods. Although holding no formal training, he was known around the Kansas City area as being a great mechanic who's hands were truly guided by God. It was never uncommon for Larry to respond to calls day or night; hot or cold to those in need of his technical services wherever his customers, friends or family may be. Clearly ahead of the times, Larry was deemed the first concierge mechanic of Kansas City. He leaves to cherish his beloved memories one daughter, Kendra Williams (Frank) and three grandchildren Alayjah, Jaylynn, and Frank III; four brothers: James Williams (Themla), Donald Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony Williams (Sheila), Kirt Williams, and two sisters: Rita Williams and Clarice Thomas (David) of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
