Community Scholarship
Who’s Eligible?
Minority students residing in Wyandotte County are eligible to apply. Applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll full time in an accredited college, university, junior, or technical school no later than the full term following their scholarship acceptance..
Amount of Award
A maximum of ten (10) scholarships in the amount of $250.00 each will be awarded. The scholarship will be sent to the student and may be applied to any legitimate education expense.
Winner Selection Process
A local committee will select scholarship winners. This committee will review all scholarship applications and rank applicants based upon the judging criteria outlined below.
Judging Criteria
Applicants are judged in the following areas:
-Academic record (GPA, SAT or ACT scores),
-Demonstrated leadership qualities,
-Participation in extra-curricular activities,
-Character References,
-Active in a local church,
-Written essay
Applicant’s Responsibilities
The completed applications and all supporting documents must be post marked or returned to the funeral home on or before 4:00 pm on June 30. No exceptions!!!!

1. Certified High School Transcript
2. Certified SAT or ACT scores
3. School Certification
4. 150-200 Word Personal Essay
5. Two letters of recommendation (no relatives)
6. A wallet-sized photo (photo will not be returned)
